PLEASE HELP WITH MY CAT. URGENT!?

i adopted a stray, picked it from the street.i posted a question yesterday and i was told that there are sprays i can buy so it will stay away from scratching my furniture, my furniture is brand new as i just moved into a new apartment and the cat already damaged it a bit, what is the name of the spray that i can spray on furniture so the cat will stay away from it? and can you give me a site i can buy it from as i live in kuwait and dont think they have it here...she has a scratching board but will NOT use it,also i spend alot of time at work , is it ok to keep the cat in a room with toys and food and water and her litter box while im at work?also what kind of toys can i get her to keep her occupied while she is alone so she doesnt get bored?
