What category should I put my skin color?

when ever I want to buy some thing relating to skin,They mostly have three choices, cool,warm and dark.OR light, medium and dark. I am always confuse which category to put my self in, medium or dark?? I have indian/pakistani color skin ,and it little yellowish.I mean i always feel like my skin is yellowish brown. I know it is really hard to understand with this description but I want to know am I medium skin or dark skin? Thanks and pardon me for grammar mistakes.
